He was taken in by the Templars and trained hard and worked up the ranks, enough to where he was given an official title; prowler, or as it is sweetly said in his home tongue; predator.
He still has an open relationship with his pseudo-brother, Thor Odinson, however he holds a lot of resentment still for Thor's family and sometimes his bitter tongue turns against Thor.

As a child Loki had a fascination with art and all things related, he loved working and helping out at the art shop Odin owned and he took such advantages while he was permitted time there during the open business hours. He met many people there, some important, others just regular customers looking for something affordable to decorate up their kitchen. However, when Loki came across Leonardo da Vinci, he was instantly drawn to the elder man. Leonardo was kind, gentle, patient, and loved to talk to him. Loki appreciated that more than anything and it had such a profound effect on him that Loki began to seek out Leonardo regularly. Loki would visit him at his workshop, he would personally deliver supplies from Odin's shop to his elder friend, and he would visit Leonardo for the sake of just being in his company. Leonardo provided Loki the attention he had craved from his own father; Odin. For Leonardo was kind, attentive, caring, loving even, and Loki wanted nothing more than to just absorb all of that in, and thus the man became a vital friend in his life. One he would, in time, come to even obsess over at times.
When Loki was thirteen, on a cruel summer's hot day in 1495, he was sent to the market to buy some watermelon. While there he was approached by an elder woman who claimed he had the splitting image of her deceased brother. Further more, she was convinced that he was the missing child, and would be the same age Loki was now. However the babe's name was not Loki but Michael, and when Loki tried to convince the woman that he was not this missing Michael, she began to become hysterical, thus he dropped his money for the melon and ran straight home. He was distressed, and upset, and told no one of what had happened.
It was a while before Loki felt comfortable going out of the home once again, and even more time passed before he forgot about the crazed and hysterical woman he perchance upon the market. Odin was training him on their particular family trade, which was running their painter's shop. Their family had collections of various works, anything from maps, to paintings, to crafts, and even some models and blueprints. Being the Renaissance era, there was a lot of demand for such treasures, thus they were doing relatively well. Even matching and sometimes surpassing the Medici family, whom ran their own support and storage of arts. Loki was content in this chosen profession his father destined for him, it was an exciting feed to any young boy's curiosity. With works of artists filtering in and selling out, Loki was able to meet a variety of different people and learn much of the culture that stretched across not only Italy but all of Europe. Anything from religion to science, from fantasy to reality, his spectrum was quite the broad horizon. He enjoyed learning the ways of his father's shop, though it would eventually go to Thor, he did not mind. At first.
When Loki was half in age between fourteen and fifteen, his father had given him a task of delivering some canvases to a painter. On his way he was robbed by a pickpocket, a thief! Naturally he wasn't going to just let that thief get away, and on his pursuit of the thief he dropped the canvases in the Venice water. Distraught he waited until a late hour to return home and upon coming home he saw his father leave the house, in a very unfamiliar garb. Loki then followed his father through the streets and witnessed his father committing murder –– an assassination! Then everything began to fit and he understood things a lot more clearer.
Finding out the truth of the circumstances of his lineage he was upset, and with Odin's ill-response to his questions and need for explanation Loki saw no other way but to leave the Odinson household forever. The confrontation between Odin and himself was a private one, Frigga nor Thor had known anything about it from Loki. Nor did he share with them his plans for departure, instead he snuck away with the cool breath of night.
For a long time he found refuge with the thieves guild, where he learned how to steal, sneak, jump, and climb faster, higher, and better than he had ever known how to before. However, he found himself searching for that crazed woman, every day in fact. He went to the markets, he went down busy and crowded alleys, he snuck up to the rooftops to look down at the crowd - until he was rushed off by the guards. But it wasn't until six months after his leave did he find the woman once again, or rather she found him. Once again she claimed how he was the splitting image of her deceased brother and this time Loki did not decline her so quickly, but instead bid her answer his questions. Then, with even more heartbreak, he found out that Odin was responsible for not only kidnapping him but he was the man whom slain his parents dead. Unbearable was his anger, confusion, hurt, and sorrow. He stayed with his aunt for only a week, to learn what she had to tell him of his parents, and then he left to seek a place with the Templars.
